Lung-Ching “Superior Grade” / 西湖龍井 特級


Lung-Ching (Dragon’s Well) – Superior Grade – Harvested at the beginning of the spring season, the leaves are traditionally picked before “Tomb-Sweeping Day”in April and the spring rains begin. When the leaves are infused they unfurl displaying one perfect tea bud and a leaf. The liquor is a beautiful bright emerald green and the flavour is smooth, gentle and slightly sweet. The leaves can be infused at least four times, each time releasing a delicate flavour. This is a fabulous green tea for all tea drinkers.

China green teas are traditionally pan-fried, which prevents the leaves from oxidizing (usually called fermenting), which occurs during the production of black teas. Chinese green teas are known for their subtle and complex flavours and refreshing aromas. They are rich in Vitamin C and generally smoother than black or other green teas. Unlike black teas they can be infused 3-4 times by adding 1 minute to each steeping.
