KEEMUN MAO FENG
$12.00 – $218.00
Keemun Mao Feng (祁门毛峰) is a hand picked black tea, produced in a town south of Hungshan (Yellow Mountain) in Anhui Province, China. “Mao Feng” means “fur peak” and refers to the downy hairs on the tea buds when it’s harvested. The dry leaf has the classic aromatic Keemun profile – fruity sweetness, hint of “woodiness” and a slight chocolate note. When infused the long, dark, thin, lightly twisted leaf unfurls and you can clearly see the bud and leaf couplet. The liquor produced has a dark amber colour. The aroma of the dry leaf carries through into the smooth, complex flavour of the liquor – deep, stone fruit notes, hint of chocolate, with a light tangy aftertaste. Keemun Mao Feng is best served clear, but its full flavour can stand up to the addition of milk and/or sweetener. Keemun Mao Feng can be steeped multiple times.
